Shauna has been a racing competitor for over twenty-two years and has won many races in her career. Shauna began racing Quarter Midgets at the age of thirteen, and having been successful in Quarter Midgets moved up to Sprint Cars. Shauna won numerous Sprint car races, and was named the “Driver of the Year” in 1995.

Shauna became the first female USAC pavement sprint car feature race winner in history with her sensational victory at Madera, Calif. during the 2003 USAC Western Sprint Car Series. That victory came on a night when she defeated a field which included 2002 NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart! She added a fourth, fifth and a half-dozen other “top-10s” to place fifth in series points. She was ninth in the Western Sprint Car Series in 2002, starting a dozen races and finished in the “top-10” four times. In addition, she competed in USAC’s new Western “Regional” Sprint Car Series and wound up as the runner-up in the standings behind champion Tony Hunt! That followed great second-place finishes behind Bryan Bullard and Jeff Gardner in races at Madera, Calif. and five other “top-six” finishes. Shauna received the 2000 Western Sprint Car Series "Most Improved Driver" award finishing 10th in the final standings. In 2001 she climbed to eighth in the points, posting seven “top-10” finishes, including a career-best-tying fourth at Dodge City, Kans. At season’s end she added a fifth at Tucson, Ariz. Shauna's 12 starts in 2000 produced eight "top-10s," including a sixth at Boise, ID and a seventh at Madera, CA. One of a handful of lady drivers who have graced USAC's western racing scene in recent years, Shauna competed in a dozen Western Sprint Car features in 1999. On August 21, 1999 at Silver State Raceway in Carson City, Nev., however, she led the first 22 laps of the 30-lap feature event only to break a drive line and retire from competition! Shauna had a great fourth-place finish at Carson City, Nev. as her best finish in four 1998 Western Sprint Car feature appearances. She was also 10th at Tucson, Ariz. in another pavement outing and wound up 18th in the final 1998 standings.
